The short version
There are no user accounts. Nothing you type into a calculator is transmitted anywhere or stored — the calculations run entirely in your browser. We do not sell data, we do not build profiles, and we do not send you email you did not ask for.
What runs in your browser
Every calculator on this site is client-side. When you change an input, your browser recalculates the result locally. Your currents, voltages, run lengths and system details are never sent to a server, because there is no application server to send them to — the site is a set of static files.
Server logs
Like any website, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, user agent, the page requested, referring page and a timestamp. This is used to keep the site running and to detect abuse. We do not use it to identify individuals.
Analytics
We measure aggregate traffic — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from — so we know which calculators to build next. Where analytics is in use it is configured without cookies and without cross-site tracking, and it records no personally identifying information.
Advertising
This site does not currently display advertising. If that changes we will update this policy before any ad code is served, and describe exactly which provider is used and how to opt out of personalised advertising.
Affiliate links
Where we link to a product and earn a commission if you buy, that link is marked as an affiliate link at the point it appears — not in a footer disclosure. Commission never affects what a calculator recommends. Clicking such a link takes you to a third-party site with its own privacy policy.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies. Any cookies present come from an advertising provider, as described above, and only while advertising is enabled.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held about you. Because we do not maintain user accounts or a database of visitors, in practice there is very little to request. If you believe we hold information about you, write to contact@solarcalcworks.com.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We will not begin serving a new category of tracking without updating this page first.
